- bride
- groom
- officiant
- marriage license
It's fast and easy to become husband and wife in Hawaii. For your wedding in Hawaii to be legal, Hawaii law requires a qualified minister be licensed by the State. Yes, your marriage will be recognized in any of our fifty states as well as countries throughout the world!
You'll want your wedding officiant as individual as you!
What makes one officiant different from the others? (What makes one bride different from another bride, or groom from groom?) Your wedding minister is an intimate participant of the wedding. The three of us —bride, goom, minister— will focus on the words of each other. Cameras may snap and others may be busy tending to other tasks, but bride, groom and minister will create a moment of memory of a marriage solemnized.
From the time I was licensed in 1996, I have kept a focus on officiating simple, intimate (sometimes just
the two of us) wedding ceremonies and vow renewals. I don't get lost in package details. I remember each couple, and smile for the expressions of love He & She share. Those are beautiful moments, when a man and a woman become husband and wife. I love it!

Your Wedding - the happiest of days
I'm Linda, a wedding minister with a focus on officiating simple, intimate weddings which don't come out of a package. Weddings are a ministry, and everyone is so happy, I love a wedding!
With no guests or a thousand to witness the occasion, a couple sharing wedding words makes an intimate moment for a couple. You won't want the words of your ceremony lost in the collection of wedding memories — the photos of your first wedded moments, your joyous smiles, beautiful flowers and happy friends, the celebration after. The photos can help you remember the day, yet it is the expressions shared between the bride and groom that will be carried in your hearts. I will help you focus on the two of you wrapped in your love, to keep your wedding simple and intimate.
Special requests are welcome to make your wedding dreams come true. I love a wedding up close, where the bride & groom are. I watch the sparkle of lovers' eyes, and focus on making your wedding vows a special occasion. With a backgrond that includes ten years professional church ministry, I now focus on officiating the wedding ceremony, so I love what I do. Everyone is so happy!

I Love You

I learned American Sign Language (ASL) to interpret for deaf friends
at our church. I'm happy to recommend certified interpreters for the hearing impaired, whose fees are reasonable.

Packages aren't offered, so no two weddings are alike.
I don't offer packages. One size does not fit all, and neither do wedding packages. Cookie-cutter weddings are, well, like everyone else's wedding. The words of your wedding will be carefully crafted to reflect your unique relationship. If you have ideas for a wedding which aren't cookie-cutter standard, send
an
(via theRobot). I'll share the excitement with you!

...more about me
My husband & I were married in 1971 and came to Hawaii for a honeymoon in 1973. Actually, husband Bob, active duty Coast Guard was transferred here, and I quickly, firmly, planted my feet in the sand to remain here with our twin sons (born in 1973) and later, two daughters. Yes, Bob managed to convince the government that this was the only place in the world I would rest my prayers, and we've been here since. (We remained well beyond the three year tour of duty!) Our children are grown now, on the mainland with families of their own.
After retiring from the Coast Guard in 1988, Bob pressed forward in his interests, I began work at our Church. He became involved with his woodworking talent while I became active in the religious and business worlds, lending my talents to benefit various organizations. Today, he's the man behind RW Butts inc and I'm the woman behind him as well as Marriage In Hawaii.
From childhood I was encouraged to explore various arts. From glass to photography and creations with no specific category, I've received various awards and recognitions for one thing or another. My writing has been published in half a dozen publications as well as the web. I'm attracted to tasks I don't know how to do yet, so I'm still constantly learning!
I was commissioned by the state of Hawaii to solemnize marriage in 1996 and my daughters were the first brides for whom I officiated in 1997 and 1999. Also in 1996, I created my first website and included a single page about marriage in Hawaii. I would occassionally receive requests from brides and grooms to-be looking for a wedding a bit different from the usual wedding packages. Of course I consented! I discovered that I love the excitement of two happy people committing themselves to each other and thoroughly enjoy joining them in marriage as husband and wife.
I'd love to hear from you for your wedding in Hawaii without the cookie cutter!
